Through creative programming, partnerships, and advocacy, we create a space for emotional expression, intergenerational connection and cultural belonging. BOHO empowers its volunteers, collaborators and community members to lead with pride, purpose, and possibility.
As a registered 501(c)(3), Boho Foundation operates with full transparency, meeting all nonprofit governance standards and compliance measures. Every donation, partnership, and collaboration directly fuels our mission.

Boho Foundation operates under the guidance of a volunteer Board of Directors with diverse expertise, ensuring transparency and accountability. We collaborate with a dynamic network of artists, cultural practitioners, and community leaders; each contributing their unique skills and shared commitment to meaningful social impact.

Dr Kamal Sandhu
Founder / President
Kamal is a compassionate dentist, multidisciplinary artist, daughter, wife, and mother of three children brings precision, empathy, and intention to both her clinical work and her creative spheres.
An alumna of the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, Kamal leads a dental practice in California’s wine country. Her clinical work reflects a deep respect for the human experience behind every smile.Her journey is deeply shaped by resilience and a profound sense of purpose.
Outside her clinical work, Kamal channels her creative spirit into socially engaged cultural work, rooted in the belief that creativity heals and shared human stories can transform communities. Leading with integrity and creating with intention, she empowers the next generation of leaders, artists, and storytellers to cultivate belonging & possibility.

STORY BEHIND
BOHO Foundation was born from a deeply personal place, a longing for connection, belonging, and a purposeful way to carry culture forward across generations.

I grew up carrying a legacy of sacrifice, service and resilience. As the daughter of a war martyr, I learned very early that grief is not always spoken. It lives within families, the quiet ways people carry loss, duty, and love.
​
When life brought me from India to the United States, I entered a new world while holding pieces of the one I came from. Over time, I felt the distance from the warmth of my culture and shared understanding that once helped me feel rooted.
​
Motherhood made that longing even more profound. Watching my children grow between two worlds, I felt a deep desire to recreate the practices that had once grounded me, practices that offered belonging and strength through my journey.
​
I saw how easily identity can remain on the surface while deeper roots begin to fade. I also saw the need for spaces where every generation feels proud of where they come from and communities stay connected through stories and shared experiences.
​
BOHO Foundation grew from that need.

What began as a young girl’s search for belonging has grown into a shared vision to build a connected community.
